t0nythelover
I think the one thing that hurts america the most is the two party system. the two parties have basically merged and represent pretty much the same types of people with the same idea. why arent labor parties, socialist parties, or even other parties bigger. i can understand why right to life party doesnt make it cuz there too specific but why not make a family life political party or and educational/medical party. any thoughts? Xpander
Some political analysts mentioned that one of the biggest reasons why the Dems got so pounded in the recent elections is because it bore the image of a "mini-republican" party rather than a party that provides alternatives. What's kind of interesting is the mention that the shift on the dems' part might produce the demand for, and consequently the emergence, of an independence party. This is something that I'm somewhat excited about. If we have the SIGNIFICANT presence of a third party in the government, then I believe the people are going to have much more of a choice when it comes to any elections. t0nythelover
how is it dangerous to have a socialist party? in the early 1900s there was a huge socialist reform party in america led by eugene something. if im not mistaken canada is socialist to some extent (at least the healthcare is) and i think france is too. i think people just dont understand what socialism is. its not communism. sassa
america is not actually a democracy if there are only two big parties controlling the majority of votes. republicans and democrats come from the same shit.
