wannabeclubchk Posted November 27 Report Share Posted November 27 Hi all! I may have a great opportunity to bring my niece into the city for the tree, FAO Schwartz, and a museum this weekend. The best thing about my niece is she has more manners than I have seen on most adults. So, does anyone have any good suggestions as to where a kid and about 5 adults can ALL have a good time for lunch and/or dinner while doing the whole trite "xmas in NYC" thing? t0nythelover Posted November 27 Report Share Posted November 27 how old is your neice? i used to work at the met and id say right about now the best time to go is sunday before 12 or else it will be packed with tourist and you wont like it. too many lines and packed galleries. the frick collection is a private collection, very intimate and classy. its about 5 blocks down from the met.you could go iceskating but thats kinda cheez, but if your near the tree any way you might as well and take some pics. beware of pickpocketers, and little boys claiming to be lost in new york without their parents. We have plans for the Guggenheim, as the "grown ups" (chronologically!) want to see the Kandinsky's there. But we will keep the options open, thanks!What I really need is a restaurant that will be fun for the adults, but not with a "no-kids" atmosphere. Any ideas there? The niece is really, really well behaved, but I would like the whole experience to be amazing for her. Any suggestions on where to eat??Thanks again! That'll probably make everyone happy if it's big and flashy they want. But make reservations in advance, they get busy.
