internet connections -- looking--

ok since im still stuck on this FREAKIN DIALUP!!

i want to know what other types of connections you all have-

i know theres

CABLE

T1

T2

DSL ( is that the same as cable? )

and whats a wireless connection?

thought id ask ppl that actaully are USING this stuff

instead of getting some sales rep- online or on phone

just selling me what HE thinks i need so he can meet his stinkin little quotas ya know?

tell me any downsides you may have to them and all that such....

put it this way

im going to need something reliable enough for me to do my online LIVE sets with metromixradio

itll be a LIVE stream of me mixing online

since theres no shows on saturday - on the sites line up

i want to do that for the CPers i nthe afternoon

ya know

while theire getting up and about

and end it in time for them to leave for the night out-

just to keep the vibe moving from friday to sturday night

any more ADVICE?

You cannot afford a T1 line... $1k+ a month. :tongue:

Your options are:

DSL

Cable

Satellite

DSL is more expensive and gives you crappy bandwith compared to cable.

If you have Cablevision your only option is Optimumonline. I got it a few weeks ago, your upload/download speeds will beat any of the other options. You can also share this connection among a network of computers very easily. Optimum limits your uploads to ~100kbytes/sec as opposed to comcast which caps uploads to 10kb/s. I've seen downloads as high as 800kb/s here, but that varies based on how many users have cable in your neighborhood. gluck.
