I'm a little dissapointed they decided to go N/A.The whole 4 door saturn thing is kind of sketchy too. That idea almost bumps it out of the sports car league in my book. SCC did a really good article on the RX8 and i think Mazda is right on with their design. The Renesis rotary engine is entirely different than the 13B. it uses side mounted intake ports instead of peripheral ones on the 13B, which allows little to no overlap on the intake and exhaust ports being open, thus allowing larger ports to bee used.it's naturally aspirated... check the service records on any third gen RX7 if you wonder why.the chassis is pure genius - the engine sits 1.5 inches lower and 2.5 inches farther back than in the 7. The car has a 5 percent lower yaw moment than the Rx7 and a higher stiffness as well.there's a video SCC mentioned where a 7 and an 8 were out on the track, and the 7 (being jspec and 280hp) pulled away on the straights, but was caught in the corners by the 255hp rx8.Also, in the cockpit you can see the RX7 driver has his hands full keeping the car on the road while the Rx8 driver makes minimal corrections.sidenote: Lemans LMP prototype cars with rotary engines use a 4 rotor naturally aspirated wankel... and they're capable of running for 24 hours and up with no engine malfunctions whatsoever. I think the RX8 is going to take some getting used to, but Mazda is coming along juuuuuuust fine [end nerd report]
kandyraver
if mazda sells enough rx-8 they will design a new rx-7 and make it available for sale

cintron
not bad joe, though i do think you could use some 5mm spacers or so on the back wheels. Always seems like on every car, the rear wheels are always tucked farther into the body than the front.
