I personally wouldn't consider it one... b/c it's not like you're saying "I love you, will you spend the rest of your life with me?" (think of that as a positive, pro-active move), you're really saying "If I don't get that ring, you're going to lose me forever" (which is more of a negative, reactive move). Does that make sense?
