A 'Joe Millionaire' Contestant Who Knows the Ropes

By Lisa de Moraes

Thursday, January 30, 2003; Page C07

When the Fox broadcasting network told "Joe Millionaire" viewers that George Mason University graduate Sarah Kozer's current occupation is "sales and design," what they meant to say was "bondage-flick actress."

And when the comely 29-year-old vegetarian philosophy major -- one of three lovely damsels left vying for the heart of hunky Evan Marriott on the hit Fox reality series -- said in a recent interview that the wildest thing she had ever done was backpacking in Morocco with less than $50 in her pocket, what she meant to say was dressing up as a hogtied cheerleader.

Kozer has starred in bondage and fetish films under the name Cindy Schubert, according to Web site TheSmokingGun.com, which broke the story yesterday. In 2002 alone, she appeared in the direct-to-video "Grade-A Soles," "Sandal Girls," "What a Scream," "Savory Stockings," "Costumed Captives" -- that's the one in which she played the dual roles of hogtied cheerleader and tape-bound nurse -- and "Tape Bound!"

Other credits include "Novices in Knots," "Hogtied" and "Dirty Soled Dolls."

Kozer wore clothes in her film appearances, including those nurse and cheerleader costumes.

If you caught this week's "Joe Millionaire," Kozer is the one who went bicycling with Marriott and got tipsy with him at a local winery. After they returned to the chateau where they're all shacking up, she sneaked off with him into the darkness with camera crew in hot pursuit. Eventually, viewers could no longer see them, but Fox generously provided subtitles of the moaning and smooching coming from the underbrush. (In case you missed the episode, Fox is running it tonight.)

More than 20 million viewers watched Monday's episode, the show's biggest audience yet. A Fox spokesman would not comment on whether the network knew about Kozer's past before casting her.

"We don't comment on the personal lives of the participants in our reality shows," Scott Grogin told The TV Column yesterday.

A telephone call to Kozer's Los Angeles home yesterday was unanswered. The Smoking Gun site said she wouldn't comment when reached by its reporter
