njdionysus
Some fans will go to great extremes to get their point across. Not many will put their money where their mouth is. Larry Weinberger isn't your typical fan. The Islanders' season ticket holder was so upset after a recent 5-0 loss to the Rangers that he spent $28,000 to buy a full-page ad in Newsday, according to a report in The San Francisco Chronicle. Weinberger's message was clear: "We, your loyal fans, showed up! We braved freezing weather and came out looking for a great game. We came out to support you. Where was the energy, the excitement, the electricity, the intensity? Come on now ... We deserve a better effort." That will serve as money well spent if the Isles can turn it around and make a run at the Stanley Cup.Go Rangers, even though they suck too. New coach? Its the players that play the game and consistently get outworked and outmuscled night in and night out. There is no excuse for being outworked with all that talent. Lindros Holik and Barnaby with Kasparitis and Poti on the ice should be dominating teams, once in a while isnt good enough. Lindros take off the dress and get in the game some nights, although I will say he has started to play better recently. Tough luck with Ritcher and Bure, but rise to the occassion... dont let adversity bring you down, use it to motivate the team.
