perns2002
10 years ago today the WTC was attacked........TODAY - at 12:18 p.m., we ask that Port Authority staff observe a moment of silence to reflect upon the Feb. 26, 1993, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. That attack claimed the lives of four Port Authority employees – Robert Kirkpatrick, Stephen Knapp, William Macko, and Monica Rodriguez Smith and her unborn child – as well as the lives of John DiGiovanni and Wilfredo Mercado, and injured more than 1,000 others. As we mark this solemn 10th anniversary, we ask that Port Authorities employees at all facilities take a moment to remember the lives lost that day and the suffering inflicted. Let us also give thanks for the steady dedication and heroism that bind the people of this agency together and, despite adversity that few organizations have endured, make it possible for us to prevail in our vital mission of public service.
