Making music vs. playing records

I've lived in Miami for a year now, and I really miss one thing about New York... DJ's making their own music.

Victor Caldarone, Jon Peters, Junior Vasquez, they all make their own music with samplers in the DJ booth. If not, like Jon Peters does, they produce remixes of popular music before they come in, and play them like cd's or records.

I'd like to hear new remixes of the same old songs every South Beach club plays.

What do you think?

One thing I noticed about living up here in NYC vs living in S Fl is that there is a hell of a lot more djs roaming around here than down there. There's a few pioneers down there but not enough to say the least.

almost all the dj/producer pioneers from the usa are from florida. what are you talking about? if it wern't for jimmy van m moving balance up to nyc for $$ they'd all still be down here and you'd still be stuck w/ junior! wink.gif
