joeg Posted May 14 Report Share Posted May 14 most car companies suck right now...I think nissan & subaru are the only ones doing good things right now...the 350z is a work of art.... and i'm dead-set on importing a skyline one day.... and the STi (as much as i hate to say it) is going to own the sport-compact market when it gets here.... they were the first to wakeup and say "uhhh... what if we used 2.5 litres???? and thus, they've got a distinct advantage over most of its STOCK competitors....personally, i'm going to go find me a nice 2.7L kit for my dsm and a big 'ol ballbearing turbo.... fuck all these new cars....it seems like everyone just keeps redoing the SAME OLD DESIGN.... bmw is one of the few breaking ground with its f1-like paddleshifters and stuff.... thats the shit that makes a real difference... as far as i know, theres no f1 paddle shifter kits for $10 imports.... (atleast none that someone driving a $10 import can afford)i mean, if i'm paying $100k for a car, i don't expect to be blown away by $10 imports, ya know? theres gotta be something to separate them from the pack...corvettes are cool and all... but they only run mid 13's stock, and theres nothing really advanced about them... they're just a good 350ci engine with some decent traction.... its not brain surgery, and the same can be done to a $5 80's mustang.... albeit the vette looks nicer... but i'd prefer not to stare at tailights of a cheap 80s car if i threw down 55g's for my ride, ya know? If roadster purists want a car, let them have the miata... or at least have the decency to make a hardtop from the factory with a ballsier powerplant than the anemic 1ZZFE. For chrissake, an FE engine?! in a SPORTS CAR?! In your ONLY sports car in the whole damn lineup? [no the celica is NOT a sports car - it is a coupe.]My Vote: Redesign the spyder. Stop trying to be a Boxster wannabe. Add a hardtop and a central backbone, a'la the RX8 and S2000.Add the BEAMS 3sge from the IS200.Bring back the supra.Produce both cars on a limited production line, like the NSX if need be... but bring them back. and have a blast. joeg Posted May 14 Report Share Posted May 14 if they made a supra2 that was actually worthy of the name, i might just need to buy some new pants...so far, the only sucessor i've seen that worthy of its name is the 350z... even though i think it needs to be blown... its still a pretty nice car otherwise... and definately the nicest looking car in its pricerange...
