phatman Posted May 23 Report Share Posted May 23 How do they determine the amount for a civil suit in wrongful death. As I listened to the news last night, I heard them throw out a figure for that poor woman that died in the botched police raid - their suit against the city is for half a billion dollars. There must be a logical explanation for that figure. I do not have it though. I thought life worth was projected in terms of life expectation, salary, and other variables but one has to wonder how it all changes when it is an accidental death or how about murders - such as the OJ civil suit.
