-DC SKILLZ MASSIVE!!!

-No Destination June 28th!!! We will continue July 5th and each and every Saturday thereafter!

DC Skillz invites you to join us in a celebrating the 1st day of summer! On today, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, we will be returning for one night to our previous one-off style format. Headliners in every room covering a wide variety of genres- Trance, House, Breaks, D'n'B, Techno, Hard Dance, Downtempo... and an outside tent thrown in for good measure.

Main Room:

CIRRUS (Live Digital Mix!)

This legendary live act definitely does not need an introduction, as their mind-blowing performances have been witnessed by thousands of clubbers the world over. Even in the rare chance that you think you don’t know Cirrus, you most likely actually do; as their music has even completely infected pop-culture with Cirrus tracks popping up on MTV, motion-picture soundtracks, and video games (“Zoolanderâ€, “Snatchâ€, “The Real Worldâ€, “Road Rulesâ€, “Grand Turismo 3â€. “Mortal Kombat IIâ€, to name a few). They’ve consistently held a superior arsenal of ground-breaking music, including works such as “Drop the Breakâ€, the recent “Counterfeitâ€, and of course the classic “Back on a Missionâ€. Now Cirrus is positioning itself for a new global challenge: putting a face on American electronic music. Tonight get ready for a live performance never-before-seen at the DC Tunnel!

KIMBALL COLLINS – (www.pamdjs.com – Orlando, FL)

Kimball Collins is one of America’s most respected and renowned Progressive House/Trance djs. Over the past 16 years Kimball has gone from a local Florida favorite to a well-regarded world class artist, playing and touring at premiere nightclubs throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Kimball was also one of the first American djs to play at such famous nightclubs as Ministry of Sound and Renaissance in the U.K. His discography has been a tale of electronic success beginning with the first United DJ’s of America (Moonshine) released in 1995 and winding through his highly acclaimed ICU Session: One, ICU Generation Trance 2000 and ICU Clubnights Vol. 2 mixes on ICU Records to his newest release Music is Life on Jive Electro. This year he’s been hard at work in the production studio in-between his rugged tour schedule, readying his first full length artist album which is expected to be finished by mid-summer. Please join us in welcoming Kimball Collins back to Washington, DC!

MADAM ZU – (MadamZu.com / MoHawk / M.O.M. / Aztec / Alphamagic / Nile – UK)

A pioneer and innovator of the scene, Madam Zu has enjoyed tremendous success and an enviable reputation worldwide. She has a distinctive style and sought after sound, and has the god given talent of turning a dancefloor, into a sweaty euphoric mass!! Playing a hard, bangin’ mesh of hard house, trance, techno and NRG, get ready for Ms. Zu to completely TEAR THINGS UP in the main room tonight!

SMITH vs. SMALLS (JuiceRecordings.com / djsmalls.net / OObliss / wessmith.com – DC)

Wes Smith, owner and founder of Juice recordings. DJ Smalls, Juice label-mate and also a member of the 00bliss breakbeat collective. Together, the two of them have been headlined out-of-town events and regular club nights in DC with destructive tag-team sets. And now we bring them to the main room of the DC Tunnel. Breakbeat at it’s finest!

MUGOTH THE DESTROYER (DC Skillz – DC)

DC Skillz’ dark tech-trance destroyer returns to the Tunnel. He ripped it at Destination’s opening night and will represent proper once again at the summer celebration that is Solstice! Prepare for euphoria.

MEZMER – (Nuclear Family / HOUSEhold – NC)

With his signature filtered and funky house grooves, this North Carolina favorite will be stirring things up in DC. Coming armed with a box of the freshest disco, vocal and bangin' beats, expect him to hold true to his name and mesmerize us! Mezmer will be giving away his newest cd "Pacemaker" all night long!

D’n’B tent:

ED RUSH + OPTICAL w/ MC RHYMETYME (Virus, UK)

Virus Recordings’ The Original Dr. Shade 2003 World Tour:

The usual steady flow of singles and remixes from Ed Rush and Optical may have slowed up in 2002, but rest assured the consistently touring and recording duo were doing anything but resting on their laurels. Much of the year was spent touring practically every corner of the globe. They sat on tracks instead of circulating them on dubplate, as what would become their third album 'The Original Dr Shade' took shape. That grimy nature and dark, twisted sense of humour that informed the handful of brilliantly evil sounding records on No U Turn, Metalheadz and Prototype in the 90s that first made their names is very much in evidence on 'Dr Shade', but in a very new and more eclectic than ever context. We are very happy to have to have them headline tonight’s d’n’b tent to celebrate both “The Original Dr. Shade†and the first day of summer.

IMPULSE – (Renegade Hardware / Subtitles / DSCI4 / OhmResistance – DC)

What can we tell you about Impulse that hasn't been said already? Internationally recognized as one of drum n bass' top new talents, Impulse has released a slew of records under the Sinthetix moniker (with Rob F. and Mecha) and gained the respect of producers, labels, and promoters worldwide. He's had releases on Renegade Hardware, DSCI4, Subtitles, Cryptic Audio, and No U Turn, played at The End in London, and been featured in magazines such as Knowledge and URB. For a producer with two years of experience, Josh Clark has shot up to dizzying heights while maintaining a commitment to the quality and integrity of his sound.

RANSOM – (Modified / DCDNB.org – DC)

and

MRN – (NUCO / Modified / DCDNB.org – DC)

Here to party. Have some drum'n'bass + a cherry lemonade:

1oz. Vodka

1oz. Southern Comfort

1oz. Cherry Brandy

1oz. Lemon Syrup

two dashes of Grenadine

Squeeze of fresh lemon

2oz. Water

Shake on ice and serve in chilled collins glass (garnish cherry and lemon wheel).

ACTUAL FACT – (LD50 / Blended)

actual fact has been a staple in the d’n’b scene in b-more since the late 90's.he's currently one of the resident dj's at the most well respected d’n’b weeklies in Baltimore, Blended. He will be in D.C. tonight to push the more forward vibes of d’n’b.

House Room:

JOSH THE FUNKY 1 – (Funktion Recordings / Mix Connection / www.thefunky1.com – Chicago)

Hailing from Chicago, the home of House Music, this DJ and DMC Finalist of over 12 years experience blends a unique style of funky house, tech-house and breaks, while incorporating ill-scratching and turntable tricks. Josh’s passion for music has led him to compile several mix compilations including his own "House Funktion" series, which showcases his diverse music selection and wicked turntable skills. Josh has also helped co-produce legendary DJ Bad Boy Bill’s "Bangin the Box Vol. 4" and "Banging in London" mix compilations. Last time he was in DC he tore it up (@ Monumental), expect a bangin’ performance once again.

JAY WALKER – (Solmatic Records / Moonshine / IHR – San Francisco)

It’s not often you can walk up to a DJ Booth and see the DJ shaking to the music as much as the crowd. A true preformer, Jay Walker can be seen with headphones poised on his ears, shaking his body to the beat as if he could mix records by dancing alone. This up and coming crowd rocker has made quite a name for himself in the past few years with his label Solmatic Records and a series of groundbreaking house tracks produced individually and with production partner David Garcia (“Fascinatedâ€, “Slice of Lifeâ€, “Ni Ju San†to name a few); all of which have received massive worldwide play from the likes of Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Bad Boy Bill, and Robbie Riveria.

DAVID MICHAEL (Medasu.com / technofunk.com / Emerald City Jaywalkers - Seattle)

David Michael has been rocking the decks in the Northwest since 1997. And now he is on his Journey back to the East Coast to share his seamless mixing and crowd rocking skills. His performance is one not to be missed. Now as an artist David celebrates his first release “Rok Tha Nightklub†on Medasu Records released in June. Look for it in a store near you. (look for free giveaways from Medasu throughout the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

SUNEEL – (www.electrolife.com / Stellar DC – Washington, DC)

Known for setting a vibe of crazy energy that seems inspired from the old school Buzz / Fever scene, set your ear drums for filtered madness to driving drums to left field twisted funk. House music in pure underground fashion!!

DEEJAY CLUTCH – (In the Mix 88.1 FM / Stonefinger / Real Time – DC)

Dee Jay Clutch, a staple in the DC nightlife. Defining the Hard Funky sound of House Music for over 3 years now. Listen as his track selection and mixing takes control of your body and leaves you breathless with anticipation of what lies ahead.
