Hey Hey! Newbie From Scotland

Recommended Posts

29yo clubbing veteran of 14 years, moving to the tri state area next year for some serious stateside dancefloor pounding, and i'm needing a ready-made crew when i get there.

If any of the following float your boat, then get back in touch....

frankie 'the godfather' knuckles, jefferson, SS hurley, JM funk, sanchez, vasquez, tenaglia, derrick may, the man like frankie bones, joey beltram, richie hawtin, larry levan, foncett, ron hardy, juan atkins, kevin saunderson, chris fortier, deep dish, de la soul, inner city, peace division, 16B, saeed+palash, dj vibe, casper pound, billy nasty, colin favor, carl cox, andy wetherall, justin robertson, sasha, digweed, dave seaman, lisa loud, parks+wilson, nick warren, danny howells, steve lawler, leftfield, soul 2 soul, future sound of london, massive attack, the orb, the KLF, orbital, sven vath, jam+spoon, cosmic baby, humate, oliver lieb, timo maas, banco da gaia, speedy j.

So if you're into chicago/uk house, italian piano house, hip-house, belgian/detroit/brooklyn/german techno, ambient, progressive/tribal house and trance(but not that cheesy vocal shite, the REAL stuff)

then drop me a line.

And before you ask, i dont look like Groundskeeper Willie:laugh:

....but i AM the re-incarnation of jim morrison's left testicle.

Thanks vixenfoxxy...at least you bothered your ass to reply.

Unlike the rest of these plebs. And you know who you are!

Whats the matter with you crazy americans? Do you lot think we're all ginger-haired,sheep-shagging,haggis-munching,kilt-wearing,tight-arsed,alcoholic shirt-lifters??

Well, you're wrong.

Ive never worn a kilt in me life.:D

VIXENFOXXY.....i tell you what, when i get stateside, you'll be the first to see me in a kilt...with all the trimmings, and the usual commando situation underneath (if anyone sees a scotsman with underpants on under his kilt,he aint scottish.)

DISC-OFREAK.....i would send you a foto,but,erm,... i aint quite sure if that G stands for girl or gay. if you're an XY chromosome, then i'll happily obliged. But if youre an extra from the Village People, go and check a gay porn site, rather than hassling a poontang-loving,carpet-munching,beefcurtain-worshipping, lovely-jubbly, box-chowing, minge mangling, smeghead like myself.

I have some fine friends who are 'that way inclined', however i dont like them THAT much that i'd get on me knees or "assume the position"for them

DJMICKEYHOUSE.....you need to lay off the substances. Its affecting your ability to spell.

BIGPOPPASMURF...... its cool, i didnt expect my list to be liked by everyone, i was just covering all the bases. i stuck in the likes of the KLF, the Orb, soul2soul, larry levan+ron hardy(rip),de la soul, inner city to grab the attention of anyone, like myself, who was clubbing in the late 80's and early 90's, and is still clubbing....although by the sounds of it, theres no-one left in that category on this board.....so when i turn up,i'll be taking you all back to school for some "re-education" which is ironic cos most of the top toons from that period are AMERICAN.

no no no

i didint mean that I didnt like your list. I meant that NY isnt what it used to be. it seems that you are expecting NY to be better than the UK....which it isnt.

Jaysea....youre absolutely right. The clubs here are far too commercialised and most of the people who turn up arent there for the right reasons.I stopped going to superclubs years ago, i prefer the underground nights, the outdoors ones, the secret ones where you grab a load of mates, stick the decks and a generator in the boot of the car with a huge wad of records and take them somewhere remote or down the beach......at 5am (who's up for a sesh in the Catskill Mts next june?!!)

But i'm not moving to the NYC area JUST for the clubbing. The UK is a small place and theres only so much you can do/places to go in 14years before you start repeating yourself. And i wont be confining myself to the eastern seaboard neither.Ive got pilgrimmages to chicago, detroit,LA,the frisco, miami etc etc to fit into my itinerary.

Bigpoppanils....,it doesnt bother me in the slightest that america has its problems in dance music (dj sammy?best dj? your yanking my plank!),because EVERY country on the planet has bullshit attached to it,including Scotland,so i dont have rose tainted glasses on when ive been observing club culture in the USA (and you'll be surprised how many documentaries about american clubbers etc have been shown here over the last 8 years). And what i saw and heard from these clubbers was enough to get my arse in gear and get over there.

Its really the american PEOPLE and way of life i'm moving across for...plus its warmer!

cheers,

Scott the highlander

PS: you're all fvckin nuts.:D And i do mean ALL of you.
