bigpoppanils
CAR magazine tested a new Legacy in its current issuethe car is lighter than the current version and is more aerodynamic.as far as engines go, the euro version will get 2 liter (140hp) and 2.5 liter 4cylinders (165hp) and a 3 liter flat six (250hp) initially. a year from now a 2 liter turbo 4 cyl (238hp) will be available; it doesnt meet emissions standards yet. hopefulley it will be engineered for US standards at the same time.the 260hp turbo 4cyl available in Japan will not be sold in europe due to emissions regulations. I am guessing that we wont see that engine in the US either.transmissions on all engines are either a 5 speed manual or 5 speed semi automatic (it seems to be alot like VW's Triptonic).all engines except the 140hp will get a chrome dual exhaust.subaru plans to market the non turbo 4cylinder models against the Honda Accord and Mazda 6. The 6 cyl will be marketed against the A4 quattro.the magazine says its handling is "competentrather than exciting"
