bigpoppanils Posted September 13 Report Share Posted September 13 according to CAR, the next A6 will not be based on the A4....but the A8.the A6 will use the D-1 platform (Phaeton, A8, Cayenne, Touareg, Continental, Gallardo) with many aluminum parts. VW hopes that doing so will help spread out the costs of develoing the D-1 platform.engines have not been announced....except for the RS6. The RS6 will use a modified version of the Lamborghini Gallardo's 5 liter V10. Audi wanted to keep the engine intact, but modifications will be made so it can fit under the hood.
