elementx
Is it possible to be healthy and live off a diet of only Plain Tuna Fish MONDAY - FRIDAY for Lunch and Dinner... With a healthy breakfast... And a cheat day being Saturday or Sunday?
iamme
Do you think you would really be able to just eat tuna during the work week ??? I wouldnt be able too...i eat tuna everyday and get no satisfaction out of it...i basically just think of it as a supplement, not a meal

Saw results both in strength gains and weight loss... Don't get me wrong I also drink my protein shakes... For lunch I will have about 3 Cans of Plain Tuna and 3 - 4 for dinner. I never have a problem only eating that... On a very rare occasion if I get bored I will throw some of that non fat or low fat mayo on there just to add some flavor... elitesnautica
It would be fine for a while - but you would definately be deficient in vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants.Nautica

incredulous
Isn't this kind of the Atkins???I think its not such a good idea, unless you are doing it for a week or 2. the reason you see weigt loss results is because you are not taking any carbs in(which means the body is not holding on to water as much) I would think you would need to eat more fat because protein alone does not give you almost any energy. You would need fat in your diet to give you energy. Def need vit and min.(i think apex makes really good ones for this kinda diet)I might be totally wrong though
FlipsSOE
u can get those same little cans of the chicken of the sea brand, but instead of tuna, get "chicken albacore". same sive serving, but 0 gr of fat and 0 gr o carbs, while getting 20 grams of protein. it's very similar to the tuna in those same cans, but perhaps a lil better tasting, and u get an extra 5 gr of protein. I don't mean to speak ill of the dead - but he was a sell out. Anyway that is another story. You are right a no carb diet for long amounts of time is not good for you do to the fact that the body is in ketosis, which means it is produces ketones, a by product of burning fat for energy. But a LOW carb diet is extremley healthy and should be the standard for any persons diet instead of our governments food pyramid - which almost completely upside down. The weight loss from this diet at first comes from water loss. But, it is extremely efficient in burning fat - more so than any other diet. That is great - the problem lies in the fact that it not only uses fat for energy but also protein - especially after glycogen levels are depleted. This means major fat loss and major muscle loss. To avoid the muscle loss one must have a day or to of carbing up - in order to replenish glycogen levels. Also, fat intake in this diet is extremely important. Avoid saturated and trans-unsaturated fats. Try to get as much CIS unsaturated fats in your diet as possible.Examples - canola oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil, MCT oils, salmone, trout, tuna, nuts, avacodoes, ect.........And YES - vitamins, minerals, and, especially, anti-oxidants are extremely important.Nautica

So I have been eating a little more than normal...And I went back to heavy lifting... I just cant stay away from heavy lifting... I have come to the conclusion I was not meant to be small... Although I would still love to get down to 225. But I do not know if it will never happen...

origskeemr
There was a great article in Men's Health magazine that had all different types of meals you could make with tuna. It was form last year but I am gunna try to find it so I can show you guys. They had tuna hamburgers and etc. for when you get bored. I use to eat tuna with ketchup and after a while I would seriously gag when I swallowed it.
