djraykang
Ray Kang & Double o7 present:|KNEE DEEP||HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG!||blue room|21 & over|ADAMS MORGAN| ||THURSDAY|KNEE DEEP welcomes DEEP ITCH|ADDICTIVE RECORDS RELEASE PARTY||This will be a special week upstairs at the Blue Room as we welcome Deepitch - Krishna Chivukula & Adam Shechter for their record release party on Addictive!! "Deepitch…it’s that spot on your back that you just can’t reach. It’s that Friday feeling when the work week is almost done. It’s…well you know what I’m talking about, mate." For the past two years, Krishna and Adam have been setting off dance floors with their cross genre mash up of smoky grooves, techy beats, and funky rhythms that’s just a little pear shaped. As residents of the summer weekly Stereo, Deepitch introduced their sound to the DC massive playing alongside Juan Atkins, Doc Martin, David Alvarado, Miles Maeda, Deepsky, Jay Tripwire, Rob Paine, and Q-burns. That winter, Deepitch took over the helm at Vision, playing with such talent as Dano, Stacey Kidd, East Coast Boogiemen, Roy Davis, Jr. and Patrick Dream, as well as Mark Grant and David Alvarado. Throughout 2003, Deepitch has been buried in the studio, releasing their first production work – the Conga Juice EP – on Addictive Records’ sub-label LowLit. The EP epitomizes the Deepitch sound – thumping kicks, spacey vocals, and cheeky samples – and the track How Much is featured on Saeed and Palash’s latest offering “Addictive Beats†(Star 69). Where does one go from here? In October 2003, Deepitch will return to the booth as residents at the new Re:mix night (www.remixdc.com) at the DC Tunnel and rumor has it that another EP or two are just around the corner…get ready to scratch.Come out to the Blue Room this Thursday and enjoy the intimate setting and fantastic vibe as you re-acquaint yourself to DC nightlife at its finest! Join us from 9pm to 2am and bring your friends to one of the most established Thursday night gatherings in the District! If you want to chill out, LBS from District Soul, DC will be spinning some phat acid jazz downstairs.
