Chris McDonald
BADONKADONK 2 NOV 15th by Columns of Knowledge & TRUE// AREA 1: Main Arena- ANDY C with MC GQ (1:00-2:30)(Ram Recordings/ UK)Andy C (aka the Executioner) has made his mark on the world as being the top dog of the Drum n' Bass scene, and he (as well as his label RAM RECORDINGS) have won countless awards recognizing them as such. His most recent, and most notable production accomplishments Rams Records' biggest tracks such as ‘Valley Of The Shadows’ (sales in excess of 80,000) and ‘Bodyrock’ (No. 28 in the UK charts with no video!). Andy's talent certainly doesn't quit in the studio though! Why else would he voted as 2003's BEST DJ (according to Drum n Bass arena's annual poll). Andy DESTROYS dance floors with his dj sets! His MC GQ puts the icing on the cake with his high energy and tight flows. There are many, many MCs in jungle, but for most people one voice is immediately recognizable as the voice - MC GQ of course. Voted number one MC at the recent Hardcore Dance Awards (and most other similar polls), and he's usually cited by every top DJ as one of their favorite MCs. The reason is simple - he manages to compliment the music, not detract from it. - MICRO (12:00-1:00)(System Recordings, www.djmicro.com, NY)Urb Magazine calls him a "maestro. XLR8R claims he "unleashes a groove too thick to mention". Whatever the case may be, Micro delivers every time he steps to the decks as a constant crowd pleaser. He's made himself an artist in demand across the US and has also made his presence known in Japan, England, Canada, and Brazil. Now a part of the highly visible System Recordings family he is poised to continue his trance assault across the nation. Always a welcome favorite at Asylum we are pleased to bring back one of the most in demand djs in the country, Micro! - DJ ASSAULT (2:30-3:30)*OFFICIAL "BOOTY CONTEST" DJ SET*(Jefferson Ave./ DETROIT)Anything is game when Assault DJs, be it house, techno, jungle, R & B or whatever- as long as booties are bouncing.
