revaluation
[special Event] TAKE ACTION & SUPPORT REFORM with the D.C. Nightlife CoalitionWhen: Sunday, November 16thTime: 9:00 pm - 1:00 amWhere: Velvet Lounge915 U St. washington, dcacross from the U St. / Cardoza Metro Station - Green LineFeaturing: special guest DJs BUSTER (Snowball Collective, Buzzlife)KRIS MURPHY (Gua-Rapo)a $5 donation will be asked at the doorThe D.C Council has recently scheduled hearings to discuss proposed changes to the regulations effecting all liquor-licensed venues in the District. Currently, the regulations severely restrict the rights of nightlife supporters and allow for rampant abuse by those who wish to attack nightlife. These hearings will finally give the voice of the pro-nightlife majority a chance to be heard. The D.C. Nightlife Coalition (DCNC) will be testifying at the hearings on November 19th and 20th and we encourage all those that support nightlife to attend.Prior to the hearings, on Sunday, November 16, DCNC will be hosting a Special Event at Velvet Lounge to increase awareness about the issues facing the future of nightlife in the District and the impact of the proposed regulations. From restaurants and lounges to sidewalk cafes and theatre playhouses, if you support an active and diverse nightlife in the city, we ask you to come show your support at this very important event. All of the proceeds raised from the event will go towards DCNC’s mission of educating the public about the abuses of the regulatory process and for advocating serious reform of D.C. laws effecting nightlife venues. More information about this Special Event will be made available closer to the date. We look forward to seeing you there.

revaluation
Greetings DCNC members! In this email, there are two opportunities for you to help prevent small groups of complainers from shutting down D.C.’s nightlife and dance music scene. Please, show your support!First, there is a Special Event to help raise funds for the D.C. Nightlife Coalition. The event takes place this Sunday, November 16, and will feature two prominent local DJs, Buster and Kris Murphy. In addition to being a fundraiser, this event will draw attention to, and provide information, regarding the upcoming D.C. Council hearings discussed below. More information on this Special Event is available below. And you can check out the e-flyer at http://www.dcnc.org/files/VelvetFlier.jpg Second, the D.C. Council has scheduled hearings to discuss proposed changes to the regulations effecting all liquor-licensed venues in the District. Currently, the regulations severely restrict the rights of nightlife supporters and allow for rampant abuse by those who wish to attack nightlife. The D.C. Nightlife Coalition will be testifying at the hearings on November 19th and 20th and we encourage all those that support nightlife to attend. The specific times when DCNC officers will be testifying will be provided as soon as it is available. Further, if you wish to testify yourself, please see below for the details on how to sign up. But be aware that the deadline to sign up is this FRIDAY, November 14. We highly recommend that our members that have been involved with the ABC regulations campaign, or those members that are involved with D.C.’s nightlife and dance music scene as a promoter, DJ, musician or artist, to testify. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you at these upcoming events!============================================SPECIAL EVENTWhen: Sunday, November 16thTime: 9:00 pm - 1:00 amWhere: Velvet Lounge, 915 U St. NW, Washington, DCacross from the U St. / Cardoza Metro Station - Green LineFeaturing: special guest DJs BUSTER (Snowball Collective, Buzzlife)KRIS MURPHY (Gua-Rapo)a $5 donation will be asked at the door============================================LAST CALL for D.C.
