Violator is very popular, but amongst people in their early twenties/late teens, this album is definately a lesser known album just for the sheer fact that its 20 years old.

Um, no. Violator was released in 1990.

Thats an insult to DM fans everywhere. I must contact the fanclub immediately and inform them that there is someone posting false DM info on this messageboard.

Iamme, I think we should get the word out about MC Solaar.

My New York Dolls cd's, i mainly listen to a "best of" one.

glam rocked.

My KISS cd's (stopping with Destroyer)

I used to be in the goth scene a few years ago so I'll add a 4 song ep by Fields of the Nephilim and my best of Alien Sex Fiend cd.

Girls Under Glass -- double cd I forgot the name of

Madness - i think it's called 'complete madness'

A few of you have mentioned Depeche Mode's Violator as a lesser known album. I think Violator is one of their most popular albums. If you like Violator, and you're not really familiar with DM's other stuff, I recommend you check out Ultra. Ultra is the second to last album they released. Exciter (their latest one) is pretty good, but Ultra has that old-school DM feel. Also, Dave Gahan's solo album, Paper Monsters, is worth checking out. I'm sure many of you have heard a remix of his first single from the album, Dirty Sticky Floor. His bandmate, Martin Gore's recent solo album is also good. Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, People Are People, and Catching Up With Depeche Mode are great, older, lesser known (to some generations) albums by DM.

DM kix azz ... my fav album by them is songs of faith and devotion
