In need of an inexpensive kick ass new years eve party

This is my and my girls' first big chance to find some crazy parties and live it up on new years eve...we're gonna be in the midtown manhatten area and we want to find some hot places to go party that won't cost us an arm and a leg (don't really want to spend the big bucks to do the crazy formal dinner thing most places include either)...anyone know of anywhere good in the area?

Check out Netparty's events in CP's New Year's Guide - there are two both $105 with full open bar, food, etc in Midtown (Rain East) and Upper West Side (Calle Ocho). Went to Calle Ocho last year and had a great time.

The 4th Annual GBH New Year's Eve After-Hours Party at Lotus

This New Year's Eve stay home with your loved ones, while the amateurs stand in line, battle the cold and robbed at the door. At 3.00am get in your party gear and head down comfortably to Lotus for the premier post New Year's afterhours.

The GBH New Year's Eve After-Hours party has become one of the holiday season's grand traditions and is now in it's fourth glorious year. If you've been to one of our previous NYE After Parties, you'll know that this is THE party to go to when wusses have gone to bed. This is our first one at Lotus though, so this time, we are anticipating something close to a religious experience.

There will be two rooms of music - and tables will be cleared for dancing.

In the main room, house music will be provided by DJs Van Jee, Dinesh, Deepak Sharma and Jedsa

Downstairs in the lounge, DJ Colt Seavers will be playing hip-hop and classics.

Bar open all day

$20 if you are on the guest list

$25 general admission

To be placed on the guest list, email gbhny@aol.com with your name and the number of guest you are bringing and you will immediately be placed on the GBH reduced admission guest list (this will also help you avoid problems at the door, as anyone on the GBH guest list for this event will be given priority entry)

You can either go to the way west side, where Exit is located - scheduled to run for 30 hours (so til midnight the next day or so)

Or jump on the subway, and go downtown to Arc, and that should be going til at least mid-morning

Both events are $40 in advance
