bigpoppanils
Canada's Army May Be too Tired to Stay in Kabul, Martin Says Jan. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin said the country's military may be too tired to extend its 2,000- person deployment to keep the peace in Kabul beyond its commitment to stay until August. ``This issue isn't essentially whether one wants to or not,'' Martin, who gave a press conference in Ottawa, said in response to a question about staying longer. ``The fundamental answer is that we are stretched very, very thin, and that I'm not prepared to put at risk our military personnel, our soldiers, by stretching them beyond their capacities.'' Canada is now the largest contributor of troops to the 5,500- soldier North Atlantic Treaty Organization force securing Afghanistan's capital and backing the government of President Hamid Karzai. A U.S.-led force ousted the previous Taliban regime in December 2001 as part of a campaign to quell terrorism. Two years ago, Canada pulled troops from a combat mission in Afghanistan, citing fatigue from serving on too many missions. Last Updated: January 28, 2004 16:25 EST It's amazing when these socialist goverments complain that we don't provide free "health care". The only reason why they can is because we protect them and they don't have to spend billions on arming themselves. I swear to god we should just build a fawking wall along the borders and tell Mexico and Canada to go fawk themselves the fawking mooches ...
