omardb Posted April 6 Report Share Posted April 6 Internationally renowned DJ/producer Jimmy Van M will take to the decks at Embassy on Sunday, April 18th, 2004. _Mark your calendars for this event promises to be one of the most exciting and talked about events in Boston. _Brought to you by Cassiamor Productions and Entropy Events, this night will feature a 2 1/2 hour set by one of the brightest and most talented DJs in the industry. _ Jimmy Van Malleghem, a.k.a. Jimmy Van M, is probably most notably recognized for setting up Northern Exposure, the first North American DJ tour for Sasha and John Digweed. _This legendary tour was responsible for bringing the progressive dance music sound to many of the clubs throughout the US, and lead to a monthly residency for all three DJs at the infamous club Twilo in NYC. _In 1997 Jimmy and partner Chris Fortier set up the Balance Promote Group, and established themselves as the premier promotions company in the US, holding exclusive booking rights to many of the UK’s top DJs, including Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, and Quivver to name a few. Jimmy has also excelled in the studio, producing under the names Eros Euphony, and the Freelance Ice Breakers with studio partner Sean Cusick. _Successful releases with his partner, as well as solo releases on such labels as Bedrock, Fire, and Fluid Recordings have solidified Jimmy as not only an excellent DJ, but a top notch producer. Opening the night will be two of Boston’s most up-and-coming jocks. _Omar DB from Entropy and JayP from Cassiamor will warm the place up, and set the vibe for the evening. _ These two very capable DJs have been making names for themselves throughout the city, with Jay previously holding a residency at one of the largest and hottest clubs in Boston, Pravda 116, and currently holding a weekly at the swank News Lounge. _Jay’s signature brand of sleek, stylish, and deep progressive house is sure to heat things up. _Omar DB, although young in age at 22, has already accomplished much in the city. _Originally hailing from Spain, Omar has made guest appearances at the biggest and best clubs in the city, such as Avalon, Embassy, Modern, and Aria. _Omar recently started the monthly club night Entropy at the gritty Axis/ID on Landsdowne Street. _Expect the unexpected from Omar, with anything from quirky electro to those home based Mediterranean beats.
