In conjunction with URB magazine, Avalon presents two west coast DJ stalwarts MARK FARINA & DONALD GLAUDE. A legendary DJ for his stylistic interpretations, MARK FARINA is known for his uniquely effortless journeys fusing West Coast’s jazzy, organic sounds with the more urban, deep underground house music he had championed in Chicago in his earlier days. Over the years he also developed his own trademark style known as Mushroom Jazz, incorporating instrumental hip-hop, jazzy and dubby soul in the downtempo range and launched a successful club night and series of albums and tours. In his own words, “I look at my job as a modern day traveling minstrel, to bring new music to as many places as I can, and expose obscure records that, otherwise, might go hidden.†To this day, his unique taste making skills continue to turn the heads of seasoned veterans as well a whole new generation of youngsters just getting into the music.

DONALD GLAUDE is a veteran DJ with over 15 years experience and is most-well known as a crowd-rocking favorite. He is one of those rare DJs who perceives their role to be that of an all-around entertainer and performer. He exudes energy, dropping track after funky track, arms aloft, and has been known to join the dancers on the floor. From his early beginnings in hometown Tacoma, Washington, Donald has gone on to become one of the most sought after rave circuit DJs along the west coast and has earned a huge, loyal underground following. As a testament to his must-see live DJ style, he has gone on to record two "Mixed Live" albums in the Moonshine series. The first one was recorded at Buzz in Washington D.C. and most recently, the follow-up recorded across the pond at Turnmills, UK. Donald Glaude's dynamic, animated and energized persona and unique ability to connect with the crowd will prove to be a captivating night.
