I Think I'm Gonna Get A "Beater"

There's a 1990 Celica for sale from a private owner down the street from me. It has 114,000 miles on it and the car is MINT!! My car is going to be totally paid off (finally) on June 18th and I already have close to 80,000 miles. I'm also fixing all the dings and scrapes on it so it'll be practically brand new again. I drive 50 miles a day back and forth to work so I need something to keep the wear and tear and milage off my Tib. They are asking $2700 obo for the car. I looked it up on kbb.com and it said around $2400. I'm hoping to get them to go down to $2000. I'm gonna call them tonight and try to take it for a spin ASAP.

I took some pictures with my new camera phone (Nokia 6820).

They're a little better quality than Weed247's :hat:

*I'll post them when the new server stops acting like the old server*

well thats wonderful.

but did we really need 2 threads devoted to this topic?

:hat:

btw: toyotas dont die. a neighbor of mine has had a tercel for the past 10 years (he bought it used, i think its an '87). that thing survived 9/11 (it was parked 4 blocks away).

when the area reopened to traffic, he was able to just take the debris off of it and drive away. nearly every other car on the block needed to be towed out.

Thats not a bad deal. That celica looks like its in real nice condition. I'd go for it.

Took it for a test drive last night.

Not a damn thing wrong with it. New brakes, new front axel, decent tires, new paint job. Thing runs GREAT!!! I managed to talk him down to $2100 and if I can get to the bank in time, I'm gonna pick it up today.

:bounce:

Yes, my car is currently my daily driver. I plan on getting a paint job and some body work to return it back to new. I just don't want to drive my car so much and put all these miles and wear and tear on it. Especially in the winter. I always told myself that if I came across a really nice, reliable used car, then I would get one. Now that time has come.

After my body work, I do want to enter some shows and take it to the track, but it's not gonna' just be a show/track car.
