Thanks to Matt Koontz: Where do I begin. I got to the plenty early to secure a spot front row in the middle of the stage. VR came out to the sold out audience at about 10:10 to start out with 'Sucker Train Blues', they finished with 'Negative Creep' and you can fill in the rest from the others. The crowd was into it from the start but it was manageable for the first 2 songs. After that all hell broke loose at least up front where I was. The whole floor managed to just pack it in to the stage as much as possible with people doing whatever they could to get to the front. The guy next to me said he was at 4 of VR's other west coast s but said this one was by far the most out of control. The crowd sang along to every song and ALL of the guys were so over. The two songs that seemed to tear the place down were 'Sex Type Thing' and 'It's So Easy' but they were into all of it. I managed to stay in the front (which you were an arm length away from Scott and the other guys when the came to the center) for the first 10 songs. Man my shirt and pants were just drenched with sweat and water, it was so hot up front. Then I had to get out as I was about to get taken down by the whole crowd. The energy was unbelievable and you could tell VR knew it. Slash made a comment about how he heard Portland was a pot town which got a big ovation but you couldn't hear much when they spoke into the mic the crowd was to loud but Scott sounded great. Simply put it was probably the best anyone there has or will ever see.
