sith2076
What's up L.A.?!!Question for you Weyes...I'm from the NYC area and I'm coming out July 15th-28th to experience L.A. (I've actually been twice, but once was a day thing seeing the sights, the other was just for the GIANT party at the Coliseum for New Year's 2001-02). I'll finally get to see the nightlife now.My friend that I'm staying with just moved to the city about 3-4 months ago...he's a Vegas house & breaks DJ who's getting into the scene...I wanted to check out the San Diego nightlife while I'm there, but he's against it, saying that they'll be too much traffic to get there, and it's more of a fraternity/sorority-esque scene...I might be able to get him to cave in if I bring enough pork roll from the East Coast (apparently there isn't any out west).....what's your take on the situation....is it worth the drive down?Ultimately, my friend and the group he hangs out with will want to go where they want to go, but I just wanted some outside suggestions...I'm not necessarily into the whole tourist thing either...I'm more about the music, (Sasha, Deep Dish, Lee Burridge, James Lavelle, etc.)...and I was raised on hip-hop.........thanks a lot!!! weyes
my fave club anywhere, spundae, is hosting lee burridge on the 17th and james zabiela on the 24th.www.spundae.comavalon has really big names on saturdays a lot these days. i really dislike the blase crowd there ; they're not about the music, but that's where the music is a lot of the time .www.avalonhollywood.comi'm a big venue person, and i haven't ever been to deep, but some say its l.a.'s only "real" deep house club, and its fans are devoted ones.www.deep-la.comkeep an eye on puresounds, too; they're affiliated with a few different clubs.www.puresounds.orgliquified also presents about town.http://liquified.comand both groovetickets and wantickets sell. i ALWAYS buy in advance and get places relatively early. if you do both of those, you won't wait anywhere (that isn't a bullshit venue, anyway) in l.a. for longer than 15 minutes.www.groovetickets.comwww.wantickets.com
