liesall
I am just curious if anyone out there has any advice on how to begin working with different dj's or finding different dj's to compile and work with. I have a ton of experience writing, recording and performing. But recently I have decided to cut over into electronic scene. My main focus is a pop/electronic style. I want to work with different dj's etc...So if anyone has any advice on contact information, websites, or just general info on recording and working with various other producers of electronic music would be awesome. tifferina7
i would definitely record some type of demo and drop them off at various record labels or at clubs to the dj's. You really just have to network...the more people you meet and talk to...the more doors will open up for you! Best of luck, I'm a singer as well so I know what its like! nSyNcBaBy
djdeanmasi
Very true Tifferina! The demo is very important. If u know any producers in ur area, maybe u can hook up wit them and even demo live for them. Obviously, if they like u, they'll use u for something. That's exactly what my home girl Tifferina did! She came over the studio with her manager and TORE UP A CHRISTINA SONG ("Beatiful")! We were like..."OH SHIT! This Puerto Rican Chick is off the chains." The rest is history.WARNING.... Watch yourself out there. Most Dj/Remixer/Producers are FULL OF SHIT! That's the truth. You have to get with the right team of people. And unfortunatelly, a lot of the guys will just bullshit you to hook up wit you. Even the biggest guys in the industry are doing that. ALL PLAY AND NO WORK!!! nSyNcBaBy

Also one more thing that is very important.. Definitely keep up with your training and vocalizing while you are recording and looking to record. There is a lot of competition and you want to keep your shit tight. And as far as what Dj Dean Masi said...its so true... you must be really careful because so called "legit" producers will make you promises which they don't intend to keep. I'm very lucky that I ended up with the nicest, most respectful and professional crew!! Best of luck and if you have any more questions PM me or hit me up at t1ffer1na7 on the yellow running man:bounce:
