stymie
Corect me if I'm wrong but De La Hoya is a lightweight champ. That was trying to step up a weight group?Your wrong. He won his 1st lightwieght title in 1994 against Campanella. He held lightweight belts from 94-96. Then moved up to light welterweight, then welterweight, then light middleweight, then middleweight last June. So he hasnt been a or the lightweight champ for 8 years. bua420
So maybe he should just stick to the lightweights fights where he dominates the ring.

stymie
Yeah you get to keep the actual belts when you move up but you dont own that title anymore. And the only belt he had before he fought Hopkins was the WBO middleweight title that won (he didnt REALLY win tho) from Sturm.
