(college, work experience, skill) you're consultant and not full time with anyone one company, right?u in LA right?i dont like this field anymore.. i may go back to school for something completely different. i didnt go to school for design, i did take a lot of art classes in college, including graphic design but i didnt want to major in it. i worked at IBM for 2-3 years in the graphics department. i also worked in a place where we did packaging for 1 year. freelanced at a few large ad agencies for 6 months or so. i mostly have hands on experience. i dont work for anyone right now, i just go to a few jobs here and there, sometimes i work from home. skills? just basic graphic design skills. i know a lot about printing too. i work with many printers so i have to know all the technical crap. i dont like this field because it has gotten too popular. there is not a lot of opportunity, especially in NYC. i was looking at jobs on a classified msg board the other day and all the jobs had like 20 hits but the one graphics job had around 500 views. its a field everyone wants to be in and it makes it hard for anyone to do well in it. it doesnt matter who is the best because everyone thinks they are a designer and people will always work with someone they know before hiring someone new. i guess this is the case with any job though...
