Twilio = Worst Vibe...

Recommended Posts

Sorry, but it's true. I went there and all there is people body checking you everywhere, and not one "excuse me", this is oh so sad. In all the places that I have been in the world, I have never met such a rude croad. Well there were actually about 4 friendly people I met that night. Sasha and Digweeds set was still one of my favorites, but the vibe was non existant. Egos and Icons....

Please give us an example of a "good' vibe and perhaps, maybe you might seem like more than just someone looking for drama.

Sounds kind of odd to me.....for a venue that is known for just the opposite of what your saying.....I frequently hit people unintentionally when I'm dancing and they usually apologize to me for it!....I think the vibe at Twilo is one of the best in the city......not to say you're lying but maybe it was just bad luck, dunno...

I've only been there once and am not commenting on the overall club (that means no drama please) but it's rediculous how many fuckin people are in that club for a good event. Seriously how culd you have a good time when you really can't move, get to the bar or make it across the dance floor in under 25 minutes.

Truth be told, yes it gets crowded, but its all in the space you chill in and who you are with. At S&D i can easily slide across in record time, and, in a place like that, yur suppose to enjoy the music and dance... wink.gif

Every large club gets this crowded, period. I understand what your saying, you have a valid point, unfortunately there isnt a solution. If the club is larger, more people go....They are not for everyone wink.gif

I do thank you, however, for having a legitimate point.

All points are valid and also well thought out - so here's an addition.

I am a recent addition to the twilo family and feel that if you give it another shot you just might like it, then again it depends on what you're looking for.

Not only have I met awesome people from the site in that wonderful place but I have also met complete strangers that were so cool that I now talk them on a fairly regular basis.

As far as people being rude or egotistical, I think maybe you may have stepped foot in the wrong place. Cause no matter how crowded it gets everyone is just there to have a good time.

I have been to most other clubs in the city and nothing compares to the vibe at twilo on a friday. Nothing. The crowd is just there to appreciate the music. No drama.

Try it again, you never know how much you might like it...Sarah

FOr some reason, I have a feeling the original post was there to start drama, but here goes anyway.

Twilo has one of the best vibes...however, there could be times when it might seem that a certain person might not catch that vibe. A couple of examples are if you're there just to grab and grope women, or if you're extremely rude and walk around with a sour expression on your face. Hey, I believe in what goes around, comes around, so if you give out a bad vibe, thats all you'll get in return (no matter where you are).

Of course, this is not to say you're like this.... smile.gif

And, gabrielll, what night did you go? Was it PvD, or even an earlier S&D? Obviously its going to be packed on nights like that (though nowadays there's actually space at S&D). Are you telling me that SF and Exit don't get super-packed on theme nights? Why don't you go on another night and see how it is?

it's funny you mention that, because I notice body checking just about every club I go to. When I was at twilo for PVD, I got bumped into this guy and I said 'excuse me'.

He actually turned around to shake my hand because he said I was the only person the whole night had said those two magial words -excuse me.

So, there are a few of us that respect personal space.

The vibe at Twilo is always good. It is always packed but I agree if you dont walk around with a puss on your face most people will be cool with you. It is a pain sometime to move around, but I dont mind because all those people create an awesome vibe. If it was dead everybody would say the place sucks.

It's true--I'm a Twilo superfreak and even I can get a little overwhelmed by the size of the crown on PVD and S&D nights. That's why I've gotten crazy for Saturdays. While heavily gay early morning, it's quite mixed until 6 or 7 and the vibe is out of control. Different music too--more house than trance, but a truly great crowd. Very mature, been around the block, know what they're there for... Try a Saturday... you may like it...

I went like 2 months ago for S&D, they were good. I mean every place gets packed, what are you gonna do. I thought the whole scene in regard to undercovers was a little shady (had a small run in of sorts no big deal) but again thats every club in nyc for that matter.

Now, THAT sounds like the Twilo I know. Everyone's just so chill w/ each other there -- how could anyone NOT experience the joy that permeates the crowds?! I hope the doubters will give Twilo another chance and enter with an open mind and the hope of having an amazing time!

I used to go see Junior spin on Saturdays. The vibe was always great and the people were always super friendly, regardless of whether you're straight or gay. Whenever someone bumped into ether myself or my wife, they always apologized.

Well, I'm not looking for drama, I'm just stating what I saw. The size of croad has nothing to do with the bad vibe. I have been in less spacious venues with a nicer vibe. I guess if you know people there then it's great, but when you don't well it's bad. As I said there were only a few friendly people, not counting the blokes from wales that I met. I have travelled all over the world from Japan to Indo and I have never met such a front at a club or a rave. Mabye all NY clubs are like this, I don't know. I just wanted to share my experience with you as a visitor from a foriegn country.

I guess it really depends on luck and the particular people you run across. At TWilo (fridays) about 1/3 ot 1/2 the club are foreigners...I've also clubbed in a lot of places in the world, including Ibiza, and I've found the vibe at Twilo to be better than most places. BTW, I'm not American either(I'm Indian), so thats not an issue. Also, in general I've found the Americans in Twilo to be friendlier than elsewhere.

These are just MY observations.

Peace

This is pretty crazy also...Twilo has the best vibe...What's better...Exit?? Everybody at Twilo is there to have a great time with everybody else around them...Ego's are checked at the door and everybody feeds off the same incredible vibe.

most of you only discovered twilo this past year. if you think its a good vibe now..then you should have seen it when it was really good.

the vibe has been lost in a world of commercialism and wannabe clubbers who wouldnt know a good set if it kicked them in the face.
