digitalphoenix
The sixth annual Coachella Music and Arts festival announced its 2005 lineup last week, with Coldplay and Nine Inch Nails set as headliners of the two-day desert fest that brings together more than 100 bands and DJs — plus an ever-growing mass of people from around the world who have discovered that this is one of the best musical events in the United States. Just as last year featured a blazing reunion by the Pixies, fans of long-lost '80s bands like the Cocteau Twins, Gang of Four, and Bauhaus will be treated to a return to the stage by all three classic groups, plus a rare appearance by New Order. Roni Size, the Prodigy, Swayzak, the Chemical Brothers, and Josh Wink fill out the big sound dance acts, while Boom Bip, Four Tet, and M83 will provide the customary atmosphere. Tickets are on sale now, and with Coachella's expanding reputation, the two-day passes are bound to disappear sooner than ever before. (DJP) *I've always wanted to go to this event. Sounds massive and mind-bogling!
