John Digweed came on around 11:30. Place went bunkers from the minute he got on. Music was very good. Played some really good music and although my time was well spent and everything was cool. I have two BIG ASS NEGATIVES on why I wont step foot in that club anymore. 1. Just like with Steve Lawler and His lights Out Party @ STATE the lights were the worst I have ever seen. If the lighting operator reads this board...please quit your job. Your horrible! I know mobile light guys that can do better. And with the way the politics are run in that club and avalon is you will have that job for a while..very sad. Lights are soo important in a nightclub and I cant believe you got to work with Digweed and your talent is incredibly poor. You missed build ups and your programs are the worst Ive seen. Since nobody really pays attention to lighting in nightclubs...this wont make much sense to most. Only person worth admiring that does lights in boston is the woman @ RISE. The lightguy @ avalon sucks as well, and hes the worst cause he thinks he is actually a great light guy! 2. Never have i seen a grosser crowd than last night. Ravers bouncing around knockin into people! I wanted to deck these two fat bitches with school girl outfits, piercings, and pink and black bandanas. So many people drunk, and trippin on E. Im not saying dont do that shit..but control yourself man! Shit why ruin my time cause you cant handle drugs. musically 9/10lights 1/10crowd 3/10 No wonder people go to New york to go clubbing! Also, the fucking people the glow sticks, almost got in a fight because one girl was on the pedistel twirling those things, came so close to my head. She then jumps down and is like to her boyfriend "Let's do glowsticks right here!" I yelled in her face, "NO, you are not!", that's when NYIS4meatheads steps in, very funny. People smelled so badly, it was disgusting, I had to leave the dance floor and stand near the side to get away from them, threw up in my mouth atleast 10 times.Like House said night musically was great, the crowd was one of the worst I've seen in Boston in a long time, if EVER! My friend was booing at them telling them to get the fuck out of their. It smelled in their. I still cant get over the lights. I dont know why but I just got so pissed that he kept the blue strobes on forever and had no skills. AXIS needs a new light guy and new lights. and people with passafiers and glow sticks....cmon now! But as i offered my services to the art director @ avalon he doesnt want talent @ axis. He wants horrible light guys doing lights fucking up the night for guys like John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Luke Fair, Sasha, Carl Cox, Danny Howells and more. I mean they have the talent musically. But someone needs to fire these guys and get some proper lighting operators in their. joga Posted March 31 Report Share Posted March 31 I've created better light shows with laser pens and flashlights.And to think, I almost brought them.But mostly I was there for the tunes, so I was happy, found my corner to groove in .... and I'm always conjested so I had no odor issues. And luckily glowstickcarryingkids don't come near me. Maybe I smell, I wouldn't know.Point of the story is, close your eyes and dance like nobody's watching. People take it for granted but with a good light guy and a good dj...shit that place would look and feel ten times better. The guy had the strobes on ALL THE FUCKIN TIME!!! Tell me people dont notice being blinded and going into convultions! And next time people go to a club please SHOWER BEFORE WALKING IN!!!
