L46183
the best djs are the ones that spin the music they likeyou decks and mixer are basically entry level stuff, if you plan on going proffessional - try to upgrade to technics 1200/numark cdx (vinyl) or pioneer cdj 1000 (cds). i have 1210s and a vestax, but i scratchwhat do you plan to do? gmanz73
i like dance, trance, techno music. is there a category for that? for ex. one name that would describe those styles? When i bought my decks the seller said that he used them in clubs. and he said that its proffesional equipment. Also my Mixer is profesional (at least thats what DJ's told me.) Anyways correct me if i am wrong. and thanks for your advice.
trigger55
is there a category for that?EDM - Electronic Dance MusicYour equipment is decent.. but you might feel like upgrading in a few months as you develop your own style and figure out what features you want/need. trigger55
If you have any friends that DJ that would be the best route to take. You can pay some dj's for some lessons.. there's tons of bedroom dj's that would help you out.Check out the stickies on this forum, lots of good tips and stuff for beginners. http://www.djforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=

L46183
the programs mentioned are either sequencers or something used to make beatsthe headphones u could check out turntablelab.comthey give pretty good reviewspersonally sony mdr v700, high endshures are good, and sennhe..something or grados
gmanz73
i have ejay, mix vibes, acid pro 4, and soundforge 6, but i dont know how to use them...lol.
L46183
use acid to record some mixes and cut them up or edit them into a mixtape eventually. You can control the levels of alot of different things in that.(Keep your music seperate, in its own folder)
zeeker
if you're just starting out I would go with a cheaper pair of Sony's. I'm not sure about the exact model names and numbers....but the 500 and 600 series are good headphones to start with at a reasonable price. crowina
this should be one of your biffest investments... it would be like making a beautiful meal and serving it on a paper plate... a decent pair will cost you close to 100... you have to see the logic in it, if you don't hear the right sound, any overlooked mistakes will be elevated 1,000 times when its on speakerscheck this out:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=67797&item=5767668378&rd=1 are these good ones? zeeker
isnt the mdr v600 studio montitor headphones?yes. Those are the exact ones I started out with and they were great. Those Sony's ones you posted are complete junk for DJing. You need accurate sound isolation and the headphones have to be able to handle the sound coming out of your mixer. I would check out the mdr-v500's for about $70...i think the 600's are about the same.
