the best djs are the ones that spin the music they like

you decks and mixer are basically entry level stuff, if you plan on going proffessional - try to upgrade to technics 1200/numark cdx (vinyl) or pioneer cdj 1000 (cds). i have 1210s and a vestax, but i scratch

what do you plan to do?

i like dance, trance, techno music. is there a category for that? for ex. one name that would describe those styles? When i bought my decks the seller said that he used them in clubs. and he said that its proffesional equipment. Also my Mixer is profesional (at least thats what DJ's told me.) Anyways correct me if i am wrong. and thanks for your advice.

there are 3 main skills i can think of:

beatmatching

scratching

beat juggling

for a regular dj, beatmatching is fine

http://www.djsource.co.uk/tutorials/dj-skills/beatmatching-tutorial/

also learn how to count beats

if you wanna get into scratching go into asisphonics.net and go to the "the ever"

If you are really into this, go to google and type in

"the path to many other paths"

there is one link there to a great dj site

practice alot, good luck, and i didnt mean to crap on your equipment

this should be one of your biffest investments... it would be like making a beautiful meal and serving it on a paper plate... a decent pair will cost you close to 100... you have to see the logic in it, if you don't hear the right sound, any overlooked mistakes will be elevated 1,000 times when its on speakers

isnt the mdr v600 studio montitor headphones?

yes. Those are the exact ones I started out with and they were great. Those Sony's ones you posted are complete junk for DJing. You need accurate sound isolation and the headphones have to be able to handle the sound coming out of your mixer. I would check out the mdr-v500's for about $70...i think the 600's are about the same.
