The exterior will be an almost exact replica of the original Yankee Staduim. The second structure will be the actual field and stands which will rise above the exterior making it appear to be one piece. Capacity will be a little smaller, (50,000 vs 57,000) but there will be more luxury boxes. Unlike the proposed Jets Stadium, this stadium seem to have total public support. The Yankees are paying for the stadium and the city and state are kicking in for a metro north stop and infrastructure... They hope to break ground in 2006 and have it ready for opening day 2009...
