Portugal have just passed by Netherlands in the Uefa ranking , we are in 6th place , which i think means that next year Portugal has possibly 3 teams in the champion league ( 1 directly and 2 have to play a playoff ) ........so things are lookin good . Holland had a team in the CL semis and a team in the UEFA semis, while Portugal only one team in the finals of the UEFA Cup. Well Portugal in 2003 were in 8th place , behind Netherlands and Greece , and Russia who were in 9th were threatening to take over Portugals spot ........ but the Uefa Cup , Champions League and this years Sporting accomplishement have added good points to our ranking coefficient ........and don't forget that in the past 2 years with the exception of this years PSV, ALKAMAAR and CSKA MOSCOW good runs in europe , they (russia and netherlands) havent done much in europe ........
