TRINIDAD CALLS IT QUITS AGAIN

Felix 'Tito' Trinidad has retired from professional boxing after losing to American Ronald 'Winky' Wright in their WBC eliminator on Saturday night.

The 32-year-old Puerto Rican announced his decision on Sunday night on his return to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.

Trinidad had been hoping to set up a bout with Bernard Hopkins to avenge his defeat in 2001, but Wright not only ruled that out by winning with a unanimous decision, he also brought Trinidad's career to an end.

Trinidad became world champion in three different weight categories - welterweight, light-middleweight and middleweight - and finishes his 15-year career with a superb record of 42 victories (35 by knock out) and just two defeats.

Trinidad had retired in 2002, only to return to the ring two years later, but this time he insists his decision is final.

In the immediate future, Trinidad plans to spend more time with his family.
