HAZE
www.skype.comI just downloaded it and installed it and I paid for SkypeOut and SkypeIn because I don't have a house phone. It was $38 for a year of SkypeIn and you get to pick your own phone number. I paid $10 through payypal for SkypeOut minutes so I can call regular phone numbers and you get 3 months of free voicemail. If someone has skype, it's free to call them but you need SkypeOut to call regular phone numbers.Anyone here have it? My Skype name is the same as my AIM.HazeDG13

HAZE
...why would you need this if you have a decent cell plan/phone?...Because to me the piece of mind is worth it. At least now I have a backup. Plus my sister is living with me and she has a prepaid phone so she can use it when she's home instead of using her cell minutes. The minutes on skype are a lot cheaper than her Virgin Mobile minutes. And it works with Bluetooth headsets so you don't have to sit by the computer. HAZE
...but in essence, it's dependant on your internet connection as well...so if that goes down, your phone goes down...are we ever really secure?...jk......how's the sound quality?...doesnt sound a bit metallic?...Yea, but so does Cablevision's Optimum Voice. It's hooked up to your modem, it just doesn't go through the computer. So if your internet isn't working, neither is your phone. The quality is great. On my bluetooth headset, it sounds a little metallic, but I just ordered this:http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/skype/linksys-cit200-skype-phone-review.aspNow it'll just be like a regular cordless house phone at a fraction of the price.
