melichacha Posted December 28 Report Share Posted December 28 Well, I don't know if he's my favorite person in the world or anything, but I do have to give credit where credit is due: the Marshall Mathers LP was far superior in substance and writing to the Slim Shady LP (which was all written by Dre). On the whole I'm not sure how to take him all the time, but I do know that he can write some pretty tight rhymes and I have to respect him to just pushing on through and doing his thing despite all criticism. All in all I don't necessarily agree with all his views, but I do respect his ability as a rapper.I mean, all the best rappers (or musicians, writers, directors, or artists in general) aren't always the most popular... and the best songs more often than not are NOT the ones that make the Z-100 cut. They are rebellious (sp) and do many things to harm their loved ones and family and they talk really nasty. Just a little things that that rapper (I refuse to say his name) has inspired them to do and they think it's okay cuz he says so.------------------ This genie grants 3 wishes... Hey I'm not sharing! I do feel however, that it is the parents fault for letting their kids buy the cds that may be a bad influence on them. I think all of the explicit cds should be in a separate section in the music stores, similar to the porno tapes that are sold in video stores. That may help the situation a little better. So for all those parents who feel that Eminem is a bad influence on their children, they better take a step back because it all starts at home...where's the discipline? Obviously, the parents are allowing them to listen to his cds. Therefore, it causes them to rebel. I don't know...maybe I'm not making sense, but I just thought I would add my opinion.
