Recommended Posts

well to bad i'm gonna

Listen up people.. Marcus and I recently spun in San Fransisco with the

lovely Jeniluv and while we were there we got to attend the 8 year

season opener of the Pacific Sound day party. Let me tell you

something. They had 600-800 party people already there and chillin' at

2pm!!!! The park parties we do, need this type of attendance. GO

EARLIER!!! Shit it's a day party what you got to lose? Get a tan,

sheeeit it's only SoCal one of the sunniest spots in america. Anywho we

return this year with another dope lineup of locals and more so we hope

you make the push to go early. We have 3 park parties scheduled this

year starting July 1st. We would like your help in spreading the word

as much as possible and we may setup a ****** account so you can donate

to the cause if you like. Each party costs almost $1000 dollars. BUT

that's not what Marcus and I care about. We care about having a great

turnout for everyones behalf; the djs, partypeople, the partypeoples

kids, the park rangers, and the weirdos that just show up to the park

and get their groove on. Let's spread the word; radio, bulletin boards,

e-bulletins, forums etc, etc. With love...

a quick note about the djs (which are all in my top persons on myspace):

Mark Blakkat Bell (Shaboom, Paper Recordings)

Blakkat is responsible for some of your favorite house songs. Oh he has a

few affiliations listed below. His records have been played by everyone

including us and your favorites, seriously.

HOW’S THIS FOR A RESUME?

(shaboom, sylk 130, paper recordings, bush records, tango, soma

recordings, ovum records, maya recordings, magnetic, tresor, pleasure

recordings, detour, nightshift, big chief, olympic records,

deconstruction, blaktrax, contra la musica, foot fetish, atlantic, wea,

magnet, sony, columbia, bmg, island, mca, positiva, credence, emi, east

west, warner usa, hollywood records, etc)

produced:

marshall jefferson, doc martin, dj sneak, felix da housecat, taka boom,

funk da void etc

remixed:

new order, tribe called quest, jamiroquai, wyclef jean, moloko, republica,

josh wink, jungle brothers , crazy penis

Brian Lyons (flammable) SEA

Brian Lyons is responsible for the longest running house night in Seattle.

‘Flammable’ is where Marcus and I really first caught the deep house bug

back in the day. Every deep house DJ knows Brian and can vouch for him.

Carlos Mendoza of Lawnchair Generals considers him a virtual library of

house music.

Josh Billings (Focus)

Josh is responsible for running and promoting club Focus in OC. Although

he has help, the burden and majority of the work involved in this club

falls on one mans shoulders. He actively promotes local and international

talent and he gets a thumbs up for keeping it real. His forte’ is also

deep house with vocals

HAWT Music Crew:

Ed Lambert (HAWT Music, Moderations)

Mikey Velazquez (HAWT Music, Moderations)

Gelly Kusuma (HAWT Music, Adroitz)

HAWT Music has been killin’ the afterhours scene here recently in LA.

Every couple of weeks they prove that vibe means everything. They are

most certainly solid house DJs and they keep the afterhours going until

the sun comes up and that’s no easy task. In fact they kept it alive one

morning until after mcdonalds stopped serving breakfast.

You’re more than welcome to make a donation via ****** to

benjamin@bodyrockdjs.com to help offset this years costs of $900-$1000

each party but it’s not necessary in any way shape or form. We have 3

total park parties scheduled this one being the first. (next two are 8/26

& 9/12) People who contribute $30 or more will get a tee shirt before the

summer is out. Design coming later. But I’d like to reiterate that this

is, a TOTALLY FREE PARTY!!!! General info below.

Marcus and I are going to the desert party, posted earlier, if you didn’t

get that info or want to go email elist@consciousphunk.com.

Thank you again.
