Continuing the adventurous musical spirit exemplified by the series’ first installment in Detroit, the second edition of DEFENDER takes place in the midst of another active festival weekend, this time right here in the city of Chicago. Featuring another musically diverse line up of party rockers and jawdroppers, this multi room event brings together top tier talent from the world over. Legendary 7th City stalwart DANIEL BELL and Italian techno mastermind MARCO CAROLA anchor the main room, while Hefty’s deservedly hyped wunderkind ELIOT LIPP is hot on the heels of his universally well received Tacoma Mockingbird (URB, XLR8R, & PITCHFORK are just a few who’ve showed some love) and brings some head bobbing, sci-fi funk to the program. Berlin expatriate ATOMLY returns for his first Chicago appearance since relocating to Germany earlier in the year, while longtime Chicago techno statesman JOSH WERNER and Meiotic resident SHIFT round out the anniversary line up.
