so, what do you guys like to wear to clubs?

Recommended Posts

well i feel as if this forum should have more postings. i am curious to know everyone's way of dressing to a club!

personally, i go from hoochie-mama wink.gif to raver. these days, i have to admit, that i like dressing in big pants/skirt, with a tank, and i can't forget my purple wig, b/c it's all about being comfortable and being able to dance, right? but some nights, it's all about getting decked out in heels, and all that tight shit. smile.gif

oh and the glowsticks! can't forget those!

*chix that glowstix, represent!*

For the clubs its all about DKNY, CK, and my second home Banana Repulic. And only Kenneth Cole shoes, a must.

For the raves, its all about UFO capri's and baby blue Saucony sneakers. The rest is just details.

And I always accessorize! They are a must, and cannot be left at home. (Wow, that sounded really gay).

Keep it movin'!

It really depends for me. First of all, on whether I'm working, or just going out.

If I'm working, it's all about comfort and keeping cool. It's usually 100+ degrees in my DJ booth, so I'm all about cotton khaki shorts and plain black t's. When I'm going out, it kinda depends on what the club is. The "gay club" in this area is all about the right look, so I'm Armani, Gucci and Kenneth Cole. That's for the lounging nights, anyway. PVC, platforms and fishnet shirts do come into play, too, though. Oh, and can't forget the stix. (*Grin* Good call, Kitty)

Hey, speaking of stix, what's the situation with them in the cities? Since I'm not back home in Chicago anymore, I'm about 6 months behind in the fashion sense. Are they still an acceptable or "cool" thing to do?

Anyway, back on subject. Raves are another story entirely. I'm pretty extreme about them. It's like halloween, but for the more intense side of me. I've been known to show up in really kinda S&M type stuff, all the way down to a diaper with gold paint all over. Just kinda depends on my mood.

Ok, I digress. I think I'm getting typer's cramp...

kove, who cares if stix are in or not? that debate is always an endless one, with many people defending it, and others thinking it's stoopid, and that it gets in the way (look at previous threads in the NYC Forum).

personally,i enjoy playing with them, but i don't necessarily need them everytime i go out. and i think that as long as you have your space, and everyone has theirs, do your thing. and even if you're not good, fuck it, b/c you gotta practice at some point.

~wow, everyone is dipping out in the GQ tip, huh?~ smile.gif

When I go to raves it's all about goin back to my childhood for a night. If I'm wearing labels it's only by mistake. I don't 'dress to impress' there. I have clothes and accessories that I would only wear to a rave.

When I go to clubs, it's all about being a DIVA! I wear very casual clothes during the day cuz it 's comfy but when I go out at night I show skin. I tend to wear more 'labels' there but I don't make it a point.

seems like everyone is pretty much the same . . .

the way i dress, i'm ready to go out at night straight from whatever i'm doing during the day, usually. of course there are those nights where i get super decked out, but why not be comfy and able to dance?? so just like you, kitty, i do hoochie momma, and then raver -

i fall back into my childhood sometimes, too. love the ufos, and colors, and jewelry, etc. i have part of my closet dedicated to stuff i would only wear to a rave, old school tunnel, some clubs certain nites . . .

When i go out to a club... I usually go w/ 5-10 girls.. and we love to theme it out. One night we all wore black, w/ gold make-up... and white feather boas... It catches attention... and we usually see people trying it out after. WE LOVE TO THEME!

vanessa and brandie,

it's all about attention. i cannot go clubbing without my wig on, and i think a wig is a pretty chill, downlow, accessory, but god, people give me the strangest looks, and strangers come up to me and touch my hair! freaks. i even get the whole,

"hey, you look like a Japanimation porn star."

great pick-up line huh? smile.gif

purple isn't too good of a color for me - but my hair is almost down to my ass, i always leave it down . . . it's highlighted all funky, it's like striped dark brown and blond - people always tell me they love it. smile.gif

luv,

Now you've got my attention!

Here in the Heartland, I am one of the few men (or just plain few people period) who LOVes and ENJOYS dressing up for nightccrawling. I think it ranks the same as a wedding, a high society gala or a show at Playhouse Square Center (our Great White Way). Few others here see it that way, alas.

Thanks to our two dominant sports teams, one looks like a hangnail if not wearing Browns or Indians colors. Not that it's bad, but when I go to one of my clubs, I refuse to wear something that belongs in a trash can. My preferred labels run the full gamut: YMLA, BC Ethic, Pusch, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace Jeans Couture & V2 Versace, BCBG Men, French Connection, and Chaos, a label from Israel that as far as I know is only available here in Cleveland. What do the masses wear to go out? WAY TOO MUCH Tommy, Nautica, Polo, FUBU, Sean John, Ecko, Jnco, and Dockers for my eyes to take. Maybe that's why Neither Macy's nor L&T (hell, we can't even get a Montgomery Ward here!) have come to Ohio yet. Too few of us could ever begin to understand.

God, I can hardly wait to get to Manhattan soon for my extended holiday...!

I used to like getting all decked out, but now I just like to be comfortable. I dont like to look like I just woke up though. My favorite outfit would be sneakers, some loose fitting pants, simple shirt, and a hat or visor. All have to be color coordinated though. I think color coordination is key. I think if you dont it just looks like you came from the gym or something. Speaking of glowstix, theyre cool in moderation. When I go out though with my friends they kinda go overboard. Dont you think it looks funny when u see 10 people in a group with all glowstix. It just fits the stereotype that all koreans have glowstix. I hate to admit it, but its true. Its doesnt matter though its all about the music for me. People could be swinging around hotdogs for all I care.

KITTY,

OK SO YOUR THE HOUSE GRIL I SEE ALL THE TIME. JUST KIDDING smile.gif I'VE ACTUALLY ONLY SEEN ONE GIRL WITH A WIG, BUT THE WIG WAS ORANGE NOT PURPLE. BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER, I'VE BEEN WEARING SLEEVELESS SHIRTS, NOT WIFEBEATERS. MY SHIRT ALWAYS STAYS ON IN THE CLUB. I THINK IT'S NASTY WHEN GUYS, ESPECIALLY THE JUICEHEADS, TAKE OFF THEIR SHIRTS AND WALK AROUND ALL SWEATY. I'M GERM-PHOBIC AS IT IS, BUT WHEN ANOTHER GUY WALKS INTO YOU WHILE YOU'RE HOUSIN' I GET REALLY GROSSED OUT. I'VE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE WEARING SNEAKERS AND I THINK I'LL TRY THAT NEXT TIME FOR COMFORT SAKE . . . CONSIDERING I DANCE FOR 5 STRAIGHT HOURS. NO GLOWSTICKS, I USE MICRO LIGHTS, BLUE. ALSO HAVE A YING AND YANG STROBE THAT I WEAR NEAR MY WAIST, BLUE ALSO. I JUST BOUGHT THE BLUE FIBER LIGHT THAT I'LL PUT DOWN THE SIDE OF MY PANTS. THE FUNNY THING IS, MY WORK IS SO RELAXED, BECAUSE IT'S INTERNET, PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK IF I'M GOING CLUBBIN. I GUESS I'M NOT INTO THE KAHAKI GAP LOOK OR A&F. I USED TO DRESS IN SUITS ALL THE TIME WHEN I WORKED AT NORDSTROM. NOW I'M KENNETH COLE AND CLUB CLOTHES. smile.gif

I think when it comes to style you have to be an original'. I was never one to wear what everybody else had on. I'm more leaning to the clubkid/candyraver look. I love to wear coustumes at parties and maybe sometimes at clubs.(I can be well dressed if the occasion is right) Big city glamour seems to me everyone wears black and formal evening wear.Everyone has that look on their face saying "Don't talk to me if your not fashionable". Well I think attitudes like that are foul in the club scene!Label whores are really shallow ,it's riduculous to buy in to all of that hype.Clubs are fanstasy lands were reality is dissolved in a glass of scotch. Why not projected that fanstasy?

kitty - i was just thinkin about what you said about "air traffic control" - lol, the first time i cracked these high-intensity glowsticks (that lasted for more than 2 days) i was laughing at myself . . . i told my bf "i feel like one of those guys that guides the planes in, these damn things lite up the whole room!"

luv,

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU GO!!

I liked to be decked when i go out and i go to nice places to party and eat. Also I'm a label whore, and spend all my doug on outfits that are seasonal;dolci, versace, emporio, gucci.THAT means that when the new season is in the clothes no longer serve a purpose.

I wear those clothes out all the time, and am fucked when some drunkass or crackhead spills somethin on me.

all those designers all make a line of clothing that is just as expensive like gianni,v2,armani collicion, zenga, there are so many more but that line is more clasic.

as for assesories its gotta be gucci and prada, nobody tops them.

BUT DONT FORGET YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY!!!

CAUSE IN NYC YOU GOTTA HAVE A KILLER JOB

OR BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE TO

GET GET BY AND STAY UP!!!girls got it easy

I WOULD LOVE TO GET DECKED OUT FOR THE CLUBS

BUT YOU RUIN TO MANY NICE CLOTHES THAT WAY

SO NOW I HAVE LEARNED TO DRESS CUTE & NOT SPEND tOO MUCH $$$$$

I WILL HOWEVER ACCESSORIZE

JEWELRY MAKES EVEN THE MOST BORING OUUTFITS COME TO LIFE.

ALSO I WONT WEAR A DRESS OR SKIRT TO CLUBS

(UNLESS ITS A LATIN CLUB) wink.gif

I LIKE TO FEEL FREE WHEN IT COMES TO DANCING

( YOU NEVER KNOW I MIGHT WANT TO DO A FLIP )

When I go out to parties, I love to wear my costumes. I have a nurse costume, cheerleader costume, kitty costume (with cat eye contacts), lots of vinyl and I even have liquid latex. I have a collection of 8 wigs. But I have been staying away from the wig/boa thing. Everyone is doing that now. I like to stand out.

My next costume purchase is going to be a Wonder Woman costume. I found the perfect one-looks like the costume Linda Carter wore in the show (red corset with gold bird, star panties, braceltts, headband, truth rope and red satin cape.

If we are just going to a club, I will wear something that shows my enhanced cleavage! wink.gif I used to dress for comfort but now dressing up adds to my "going out" experience. I am constantly trying to out do myself. Have fun. You are only young once.

You can see pics of me dressed up on my website. Just look in my sig.
