So you gutted the Big East and took Miami, BC, and Va Tech. The Big East was hurting for a little while, what with Rutgers, West Virginia, UConn trying to have a football team, Pitt, and Cuse. They rebounded by picking up South Fla, Louisville, and Marquette.

How's it looking now? Pretty bad for the ACC, great for the Big East. See, what goes around, comes around.

Compared to the ACC,SEC,Big 10&12,those conferences have power house teams that continually play tough schedules. The teams are better and the competition is better. Who has W.V. and Louisville played that is legitimate contenders. Don't say Miami either they are a joke this year. If W.V. or Louisville played teams like Michigan,Ohio State,LSU,Auburn,Texas,Florida,Clemson,GT,Oklahoma or other top teams and beat them. Then you could consider them powerhouses or could respect that conference.

The Big East goofed about 10 or more years ago when they could of had teams like Penn State,Florida State and Notre Dame join that conference. Then you still would of had Miami,VT,and BC in that league. If those teams joined and the others stayed,it would have been one of the toughest conferences in the country. But that is in the past. Now the Big East has to deal with it, being considered a soft conference.

Louisville smacked the shit out of Miami this year and almost beat them...IN MIAMI...last year. Big East has DOMINATED ACC competition this year head to head and West Virginia beat a very powerful SEC in the Sugar Bowl. Big East has 3 teams in the Top 25 and one on cusp of getting in (Pitt). These teams will be consistently strong for many years to come and if some of the other "power conferences" had the balls to schedule them, we would see ON THE FIELD. We'll just have to settle for the crap BCS.

P.S. None of your conferences can hold the Big East's jock in hoops...FACT!

Big East and ACC are both bad. Overall NCAA is weak this year. SEC is by far the strongest conference and thats not going to change anytime soon. Best 2 teams in football are both in the Big Ten. But SEC is rediculous. A 1 loss Florida or Tenn. would beat out an undefeated Louisville or WV for the National Championship. You can't play in the National Chapionship with a schedule like the one that WV has this year. That shit just doesnt happen.

SEC is hands down, the best conference in the country, and has been so for quite some time.

the problem with the Big East football is that what is the incentive for an SEC team, or an ACC team "powerhouse team" at that to schedule them, if a team like Florida already has Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Georgia etc. on their schedule? Why schedule another game they might lose?

The Big East had Lousville and West Va. far ahead of the rest of the programs in the conference. We'll have to see if Rutgers has really turned their program around or if it is just a one-off.

If Big East teams want more recognition, they are going to have to go out of their way to schedule better oppponents. Try scheduling a game with USC, Big 10 teams, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma etc. . Its not likely that any ACC or SEC team will want to play either Lousville or West Va. 'cos their conferences are very deep.

ACC has 4 teams in the top 25 and MD and Va. Tech also on the cusp of getting in.

SEC has 5 in the top 25. GA, S. Carolina, Alabama could also make it.

Big 12 has 5 in the top 25.

scheduling teams like Eastern Washington, Marshall, Temple, Middle Tennesse, Howard, Navy doesnt help the Big East teams. they can do better than that.

i agree, the Big East is the best in basketball.

go USF!

You've already answered that...no one wants to schedule them. Big East teams will need to keep winning, and build their recruiting base until the so-called" power teams have no choice but to play them.

Rutgers will continue to improve now that they're keeping their in-state HS talent.

right, and until that happens, they have to go out and find middle-teared teams from the Pac-10, Big 12, Big-10, teams better than the Middle Tennesse's and Howard that they are currently playing. either that, or you will have to wait until the rest of the league gets better. like i said, right now you got 2 top teams in that conference and then the rest lagging behind.

we could say the same thing about basketball. what incentive does a UConn, Pitt, Nova have to schedule a whole lotta tough opponents when they have such a tough conference schedule already? they usually have 3-4 quality out of conference opponents, 9-10 games against teams they should clobber (like Coppin State, Fairfield, Albany, St. Mary's), what would a team like UConn gain by scheduling teams Duke, NCarolina, Florida, UCLA year in year out? nothing.

See that won't happen because the middle of the road teams in the big conferences won't schedule them either. It's the good 'ol boy network - the rich get richer under the BCS. That's why you never see teams outside the power conferences get a fair shake and why you'll NEVER will see a playoff in college football - god help someone if they actually want to a champion decided on the field.

In basketball, that's a another story - a higher seed in the tourney is easier to come by with a strong schedule. Pitt got screwed over last year by getting a #5 seed, even though they were in the Big East final and had a great record. They knew this and booked games against Wisconsin, Washington and Oklahoma State. Strength of schedule is becoming a bigger component with seeding and bubble teams.

Big East is a BCS conference, maybe West Va and Lousville dont feel the need to scheduling anyone decent since they can just play their Big East schedule and one of them will end up in a BCS game.

but i agree, Collge Football needs a playoff. they way things are going now, the winner of the Ohio State-Michigan game on Nov 18 will be at the Fiesta Bowl playing for the National Championship on January 7. thats more than 50 days in between games, and the players are mostly not in class after mid-december. you got plenty of time to make some sort of play off. thats what I hate about College Football even though I love watching it.
