It is a national DJ contest and tour spanning 25 different cities. In each city, artists submit their music online. From these submissions, selected artists are chosen to perform at sanctioned events in their respective cities and compete via online voting. The grand prize for the top artist is a showcase performance at Winter Music Conference 2008 in Miami and South by Southwest 2008 in Austin!HAC LE [Play Co Music, John Digweed 'Next Big Thing' DJ Contest Winner, AMP]A born native of Vietnam, in 1990 Hac Le started playing 80’s electronic and alternative music in Los Angeles, CA. Living in CA allowed Hac to experience the beginnings of the West Coast electronic dance music scene and presented him the opportunity to open for Taylor & Sandra Collins. It was the underground sounds of the West Coast that became Hac’s musical inspiration. Soon after he obtained a residency at LA’s longest running industrial club, the now defunct Kontrol Faktory, located in the heart of Melrose at the Probe. During his 3-year residency, Hac spun alongside great talents such as Jack Danger of Meat Beat Manifesto and Talla 2XLC of BiGod20. From there Hac packed his bags and moved on to Chicago where he took a brief two year hiatus before returning to the decks. He re-emerged with a distinctive musical style - fusing his previous West Coast experience with the local Chicago House and Techno scenes.Known for his contrast of light and dark emotive soundscapes, Hac has captivated crowds across the country with his energetic, chunky, throbbing beats, performing in Chicago (Crobar, Transit, RedNoFive), Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Mexico with some of the best talent in the industry such as John Digweed, Moshic, BT, The Crystal Method, Taylor, Sandra Collins, Paul Van Dyk, Deep Dish, Pako & Frederik, Hector Romero, James Zabiela, Kazell and Hernan Cattaneo.Recently, Hac was recognized by one of the top DJs in the world. His mix was hand picked by John Digweed out of over 1,800 entries as the winner of FutureMusic’s Next Big Thing DJ contest. John Digweed was so enamored by Hac's winning entry that he decided to feature the mix on an episode of his internationally syndicated Kiss 100 radio show. Hac was also flown out to Denver to open for John Digweed and Desyn Masiello’s Endless Summer Tour at the world famous venue, The Church. The media exposure has catapulted Hac’s name and sound onto an even larger international stage.www.playcomusic.comLEVI GRAHAM [insurgent Recordings, AMP]Born into an exceptionally artistic family, Levi Graham was introduced to house music at a young age. In 92' he began experimenting with synthesizers in his uncle's studio after being introduced to the sounds of Orbital and Underworld. In 94' he attended his first wharehouse party... Later, as part of the Insurgent Recordings collective (Austin, TX) Along with DJs Rebel and Right-1, Levi helped set up a string of invite-only renegade parties that helped establish Insurgent as a driving force in the Texas underground. Starting in 2000 with their first party "Cedar Fever". The spot was tucked away in a forest preserve at the edge of an industrial complex...and remained unseen and unheard by the local fuzz. Addicted to the rush and vibe that came with throwing illegal parties, they continued once a month thereafter. In 2002 Levi relocated to Chicago, since then hes kept a busy dj schedule, his unique style of quirky electro house and progressive as well as extreme skill behind the decks have earned him respect from some of the top djs in the world. www.myspace.com/levigraham82PeteOne [bPMChicago.com, AMP]Born in beginning of 80's in Poland, PeteOne attended an international music school at the age of nine, where for four years, he studied the history of classical music and took piano lessons. In the mid-90's he fell in love with performers like Orbital, Future Sound of London, and the Prodigy. Soon after he bought his first pair of turntables and taught himself the art and science of mixing records. His style of music can be described as nasty, deep, and sexy futuristic sounds. His biggest influences include international DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Deep Dish, James Lavelle, and Steve Lawler. Pete is creating quite a buzz in the Chicago local scene after his performances at Vision, Mix, and WNUR 89.3 FM radio. As a part owner of BPMChicago.com and member of AMP he guarantees to keep the best underground dance music pumping through the speakers.www.myspace.com/peteone________________NO COVER & $35 Premium Drink Packages all night long!http://www.ampprod.com/rsvpEvery week we bring you Housexy in the Lair (minus 1st Fridays)!
