This Lunar New Year marks the arrival of the Year of the Golden Pig. The lunar calendar designates one of 12 zodiac signs to each year, while the years also rotate through five elements gold, wood, water, fire and earth. In 2007, the Year of the Pig coincides with the element of gold, a once-every-60-years occurrence.

Marc Bortz (Cabaret, Tokyo 21, Jet Vodka Lounge, Hogs & Honeys, Sangria) expands his empire with this hip-hop focused club in the former Dragon Room address. Bortz beefed up his hip-hop cred for this project when he partnered with John Monopoly, whose bio includes hip-hop talent scout, music video producer, CEO of GOOD Music and Kayne West's manager. As for the decor, Bortz says: "It's the nicest space I ever built." The tri-level club aims for a Tibetan vibe with rich woods, stone and ample artifacts from the region.
