cpnews
It's Winter Music Conference week, and even the Sony Ericsson Open, our famous tennis tourney, is getting into the DJ game with Night Tennis at the Ice Palace, 59 NW 14th St., where, tonight, eight pro players will take to the court wearing specially designed neon whites to play in pitch black, with UV as the only light source. Each match will feature a laser show with a live soundtrack provided by Paul Oakenfold, who admitted that he's ''very intrigued by the whole Night Tennis concept -- who would have expected sport and electronic culture to be combined in this way? The opportunity to play a rare set of classics at the Winter Music Conference is something that is a challenge as well as being a real night of nostalgia for me and the people of Miami.'' In between matches, GenArt will showcase neon fashions. The party goes from 11 p.m.-4 a.m. and best of all, it's free!
