Back to the woods for Quiznos' coyote

April 4, 2007

The Quiznos coyote is free.

The wild animal that wandered into a Loop sandwich shop Tuesday was released on the estate of a Barrington Hills couple just after 3:15 p.m. today.

The coyote that wandered into Quiznos waits to be moved from one cage to another for transportation. The animal was released on a preserve in Barrington.

The coyote garnered national attention after climbing into the Quiznos sandwich shop cooler at 37 E. Adams, before being taken away by animal control.

The city's Animal Care and Control department turned the 30-pound coyote over to the Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation group this morning. Workers for the not-for-profit group examined the coyote this afternoon, declared it healthy and released it on a volunteer's nine-acre northwest suburban estate.

The coyote did not leave its plastic cage when Flint Creek founder Dawn Keller opened the metal gate. But when Keller removed the top of the cage, the animal smelled freedom and bolted for the woods.

It was not a completely clean get-away. The coyote slammed into a plastic mesh fence before bouncing away and dashing into the brush.

is not

didn't u see that commercial where they compared the sizes of sandwiches at subway? they are like half the size of quiznos, cuz they hardly put anything in there!

quiznos beats subway hands down, except for the fact that quiznos is more expensive
