PinkFloyd40
yea those things are insane- my friend put one in his car when he first got his system to test and the thing was going nuts -Rob------------------"And thus they give the time, that Nature meantFor peaceful sleep and meditative snores,To ceaseless din and mindless merrimentAnd waste of shoes and floors." toxic
Isn't there more to a sound system then just bass?------------------David H.Toxic Productions[This message has been edited by toxic (edited 08-22-2000).]
PinkFloyd40
well he wanted something to test what a sound system "can handle", that usually refers to bass. Of course theres more to the system then bass. But I've never heard of a tweeter blowing out.-Rob------------------"And thus they give the time, that Nature meantFor peaceful sleep and meditative snores,To ceaseless din and mindless merrimentAnd waste of shoes and floors." toxic
As you can probally see I do not know a ton about sound systems What I am looking for is a way to find out the overall quaility of a system. What other things besides bass need to be tested and how would I go about doing that.------------------David H.Toxic Productions

sirdante
the best way to test a sound system, especially if you want to tweak it with eq, speaker positioning, etc. is to use a good quality recording that you know well. i always use the Massive Attack single, "Angel," on heavy-guage 12". it has incredible sounding bass, full orcestra range, and i have heard it many times on a properly set up system.better yet, get a variety of tracks. i use "angel" as well as something more electronic like the Chemical Bros or something.------------------i love music! To tell you the truth the best thing to test sound is a C&C Music Factory record, like Shake That Body, Gonna Make you sweat. Columbia records is real good with thier recording and C&C back in the day were the same. I garuantee any C&C record will do.------------------It's all in the music
