johnb Posted August 27 Report Share Posted August 27 I just want to say that he tore it up last night at Centro-fly. I had never seen him spin before, and I thought he was brilliant. He was spinning a lot of Ibiza-greatest-hits kind of stuff, (that's what I call that sort of Subliminal style) but he was doing amazing buildups to everything, lots of scratch tricks and wicked beat mixing to build tracks up. He played lots of different stuff too. He even mixed in a couple of 80s tracks (and it worked, wasn't cheesy) and some more progressive stuff as well, like Flash and Roaches. They didn't seem to like the Big beat sound. That was their cue to leave.My weekend. It was shite! I had to work all weekend. Thank god for CDs... I saw him at El Divino my first night there and he was nothing but bland groove - except when he played Spiller's Groovejet. And his opener, Paul Stevens, was even worse! djchris Posted August 28 Report Share Posted August 28 I'm glad to see Junior is kicking ass, I knew Junior from early to mid 90's when he was putting tracks out with my friend Dave for Ruff track Records. Junior is bringing himself up and was always cool to talk and chill with. I know he did some work with Armand VanHelden too. I'll have to goto Centro Fly to check him out. Carl Cox's Birthday Bash @ Space was that evening (absolutely incredible). Like I said, no disrespect intended, but I went to Ibiza simply for the music and I was disappointed with his set. I thought you'd want to hear my opinion. That is what the message board is for, right? To voice you opinion on a topic.
